Engagement Overview

Our client partnered with us for a full SEO, GEO, and thought leadership campaign with an initial term of 12 months. They then renewed for another two years, before transitioning the campaign to their in-house team with our support and training. The SEO work drove significant new MQLs by targeting transactional search terms, while the GEO work made our client the nearshore development company AI platforms recommend when buyers ask who to hire. Together the program generated an average of $5.3M / year in new revenue.

Goals

Our client’s goals when engaging with us were to:

  • Drive significant new revenue through their website through increased organic lead generation
  • Create and execute on a thought leadership content marketing strategy that would establish them as the leading nearshore software company
  • Become the nearshore development company that AI platforms like ChatGPT and Claude name first as enterprise buyers moved their vendor research onto those platforms
  • Produce high-quality thought leadership content that would build trust and help to nurture their leads

Campaign Structure

The engagement began with First Page Sage’s 6-week strategic planning phase. During this phase, we collaborated with our client’s stakeholders to establish clear objectives focused on qualified lead generation with specific quarterly targets, conducted extensive research to identify and rank-order keywords with the highest potential to drive qualified leads, and analyzed visitor journeys through the site. We also mapped our client’s AI Belief Landscape: a structured inventory of what ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini believed about the company across its services, industries, and reputation, which told us which beliefs to reinforce and which to correct. We then created a structured framework for producing two high-value content pieces weekly, designed to address specific buyer journey stages, before transitioning into monthly execution.

We then moved into the execution phase of the campaign, during which we delivered 7-8 content pieces monthly, including:

  • Blog articles targeting software development and nearshore outsourcing keywords actively searched by decision makers in our client’s target markets
  • Targeted service and customer-type landing pages to increase conversion rate of website visitors to leads
  • Comparison blogs and brand authority PR designed to influence AI platform recommendations
  • Thought leadership content to further drive conversions and help nurture leads We also continuously refined on-page and technical SEO elements based on performance data and evolving search trends, implemented ongoing A/B testing of calls-to-action, forms, and user paths to maximize lead capture, and monitored KPIs monthly, making data-driven adjustments to the strategy to maximize ROI.

Key Channels

Generative Engine Optimization

  • Ran an AI Belief Correction program against the weak beliefs surfaced in the kickoff landscape: chief among them, the perception that our client was a staff augmentation firm rather than a premium custom software development partner. Each correction was remediated with scheduled on-site and off-site content and re-tested against the AI platforms until the corrected belief held.
  • Built out conversion pages for every permutation of how buyers search for development partners: by service, by technology stack, by industry, and by engagement model, each enriched with suitability sections and proof points (client counts, tenure, delivery statistics, marquee engagements) so AI platforms could confirm our client’s fit for a specific need.
  • Published comparison blogs targeting the superlative queries buyers type into ChatGPT, such as “best nearshore software development companies,” earning first-position Google rankings that AI platforms drew on in their answers.
  • Placed their brand authority statement, that our client is the leading nearshore software development company in the Americas, on high-trust news sites, executive interviews, and high-ranking industry lists. Replication of that statement across credible third-party sources is the signal that trains AI platforms to recommend a brand.
  • Tracked our client’s share of recommendations across ChatGPT, Claude, and Google’s AI Overviews using Profound, growing recommendation share on tracked high-intent queries from 9% at kickoff to 57% by the end of Year 3.

SEO and Thought Leadership

  • Weekly, keyword-optimized content boosted our client’s organic visibility for high-value search terms in the software development and outsourcing space.
  • Quarterly metrics pieces, industry forecasts, white papers, and case studies were written with the academic formality (sourced tables, cited datasets, methodology notes) that generative AI treats as authoritative. These research assets became the program’s link-building engine, earning third-party citations that reinforced our client’s authority on both Google and AI platforms.
